There's all kinds of awesome happening with psych/garage rock. Mental escapes and freak outs all over the fucking place. What the fuck are these guys talking about? I'm old and am aware that top 40 isn't the only music getting made. But, they don't want to know. SHites want their footy pajamas and candy. And Vicodin.

I used to tell them exactly this all the time. They didn't want to hear about it. They would moan and cry about how nobody makes rock music like they did in the 60's anymore, and I'd say "Sure they do! Much of it is even better! Check out these psych-garage bands and blow your mind!" and provide a list, or YouTube links or whatever. Never could get anyone to take an interest. Two poats later, someone would by crying that there's no music like 60's music anymore. Fuck them. Every time I play music I am happy, not miserable. I don't whine about the old days, I don't give a fuck about my equipment, and the lowly mp3 did more to broaden my musical horizons than subscriptions to Rolling Stone and Spin ever did. Some people are destined to be miserable old men. I chalk it up to a combination of karma and self-fulfilling prophecy. Other people are laughing it up hours before they drop dead. It's a choice we make; I know which side I am on...

They just caught that one train and they just want to ride it over and over - pretty sad. And then there's Scoot.
