What a clown:
Ya the kids these days ...... I’d say Green Day is as relevant as Paul McCartney with da kids these days.

Green Day == Dad Rock Paul McCartney == Grampa Rock If a 20yo old dad was listening to Green Day when they came out it’s very possible you can up that generation to them being grandpa rock and Paul easily great grandpa rock.

“I spent 3 years in special education, have an IQ of 70 (borderline retarded), and couldn't tie my shows until I was 8. So if I can record and play back with Dolby NR no one has any excuse.”

I know I shouldn't bite, but it's fucking me off. Why would the foreign record company need to make a third-generation copy of a tape to store when it's easier to just put a piece of paper with mastering notes in the box?

I remember not long after American Idiot came out, Green Day would occasionally get played on NYC's classic rock station Q1043. The second newest band that would get some occasional play (not counting on special programs like Eddie Trunk or Little Steven's Underground Garage) would be Nirvana. So well over a decade ago, Green Day were already dad rock.

Lukpac spends hours correcting this Cousin It looking motherucker. Then he posts this gem about the Please Please Me album
Guess the bootlegs I have with just the instrumental tracks being played live are bogus. It’s well documented that Martin put the band on one track and overdubbed vocals later on the second track.
Clown ass.

I'm gonna say that at least Twist & Shout was done entirely live but I imagine since it was the last thing recorded at the end of a session that was about to run over the clock that it was purely done to save time.

It's still a stereo mix.

I thought it was live to two track with vocals on track, instruments on the other (they sing on the outtakes too, after all). They were adding harmonies and other additions (handclaps, harmonica, etc.)

They were adding harmonies and other additions (handclaps, harmonica, etc.) I could be on crack then. I swore they did the vocals separately. Carry on. Off the top of my head, they started doing instrumental backing tracks with I Feel Fine. BeatlesBible says:
"‘I Feel Fine’ was completed in nine takes. The first eight were of the rhythm track only, and the final take was an overdub of the vocals. It was the first Beatles song to have the backing track recorded before the vocals, as John Lennon had trouble singing and playing at the same time."
That's wrong too though. Lennon was singing (and struggling) still on take 5. Take 6 was instrumental and the next complete take was 9, the master.
