No Gong box for the Charlie Brown of SHites Oct 7, 2019 0:56:15 GMT

Either 93curr has been keeping a low profile lately, or his inherently nondescript, black hole personality has led the world to take absolutely no notice of him for years (per usual). Whatever the case, Toronto's favorite self-pitying, sad sack Mr. Magoo has slithered back in the building, shadowed — as always — by the dark rain cloud that invariably follows him wherever he goes.
(The following exchange should ideally be accompanied by BradOlson's Tell-Tale Heart slide whistle.)

So someone in my building is stealing my deliveries. Purolator claim that they sent the Abbey Road and Gong boxes (both pre-ordered at a significant discount) on Monday, but nothing was there when I got home from work. Purolator said they were just left in the hallway outside my apartment door but, apart from saying that the GPS tracker showed the delivery van was in my neighborhood at the time, they couldn't confirm that the boxes were, in fact, at the right apartment or even the right building. I checked with the building manager and waited to see if maybe someone turned them in. No such luck so, yesterday, I contacted Amazon and advised them that the delivery had apparently been stolen. They said they were sorry and that a replacement shipment would be sent out. Great. Checked the status when I got home to discover that Amazon had sent them same-day delivery and included a photograph of the boxes at my door left, yet again, unattended all afternoon. Why would they not demand a signature for a shipment that was already stolen??!!?? So I contact Amazon again and they say the response will be to refund my money.
Which forces me to order the discs again, at a hugely inflated cost, and with no reason to think that they won't, once again, just be left unattended when delivered. :realmad: Seeing as how whoever stole them the first two times must be annoyed that they just got stuck with duplicates, I'd hate to annoy them further with having to steal the same things a third time. I am going to have a sign printed to put on my apartment door saying that delivery persons should not leave packages unattended, as they're being stolen, but I have zero faith that that will be paid any attention to whatsoever.

93curr said:I don't have any friends or relatives and stuff goes missing at work all the time; I'd trust that even less.
Soundhead said:Man, I'd be furious....I take it there are no security cameras there?
93curr said:No, nothing like that. Security cameras in the rental office only.
I wonder if 93curr is like Frank Grimes — living on top of a bowling alley and underneath another bowling alley? No further replies in the thread from Herr Curr. Perhaps the Pot Head Pixies carried him away to the Planet Dork? Or maybe he finally hanged himself? Whichever.
