He would get a mod to do it for him, of course.

I played my copy of the '85 German DMM not too long ago and it is far superior to most previous pressings, although I don't have, nor have I ever heard the '78 UK white. I can't speak on the later DMM's after 1985, other than the only other one I have, is a 1986 With the Beatles, that one has A1/B2 matrix, sounds excellent.
Played it on what? Your gear profile isn't filled out. Steve Hoffman, Friday at 10:09 AM

That's pathetic, as it's well documented that they had a fallout in the early seventies. Riddle had been a drunken mess for a while after his affair with Rosemary Clooney, and Sinatra started to work with more easy-going arrangers, as he wanted to have more of a backseat approach to prepare albums, so he would have more free time for everything else. Randy Newman summed up the difference between perfectionist Sinatra and hedonist Sinatra by the quality of the toupee. Once he switched to some rug that looked synthetic that he just put on when he got up every day, he was also at a point in his life where he didn't want to spend days working on arrangements with a guy like Riddle.
They didn't actually complete an album together after 1966, a concept album about women's names was left unfinished in the early 70s due to lack of interest by Sinatra, Riddle resented that Sinatra had picked Billy May to handle The Past part of Trilogy, and he was even more hurt when Sinatra refused to assist some special award he was getting. They didn't speak for years, they reconciled, and then Riddle died from cirrhosis.

I've never come across a Sinatra Reprise album I thought was all that good.
Riddle should have been glad he had no association with Trilogy. That one's what today's young people call "cringe."

I would joke that the only good Reprise album in Nothing But The Best however I have a soft spot for his first one, Ring A Ding Ding. It's the only Reprise album my old man ever bought on CD.

I’m going to continue my lifelong project of never listening to anything by Frank Sinatra.

I think all the Capitols are worthwhile. That's why the nosedive in quality afterwards in quality afterwards is so surprising. But, so what? If it's not your thing, there's many thousands of other good recordings out there.

If it's not your thing, there's many thousands of other good recordings out there. There are some really good Reprise albums that rank with the Capitol ones but I feel after the Live at the Sands album the quality starts to decline. Actually it happened before, anything that featured more contemporary songs of the time vs. one of the traditional songs quality goes up and down. Just my view - SHite hat off. As for Steev, I am waiting for the story about the time he shared a bottle of Jack with Francis or ate French toast with Nelson.

I remember well my lunch with Sinatra. We were discussing dynamic range. "Ya just gotta use limiters," he sez. "That's what gives it pizzazz. That's what gives it that Ring-A-Ding-Ding!"
"Frank," I sez. "I have all the respect in the world for you as a singer. But you need to leave the mastering decisions to professionals like Steve Hoffman."
