I don't believe he's a real doctor. I’m pretty sure he’s a dumbfuckologist.

I can't go anywhere without hearing Macca Three blasting from homes and cars.

I can't go anywhere without hearing Macca Three blasting from homes and cars. That's a good way to impose those rockdown stay-at-home orders.

I guess I’m in the (very small) minority around here, but I kinda like McCartney III... [It was the first of his albums I’ve bought since Electric Arguments, so I’m definitely not “catalog”. (The local CD shop had the mini-LP version with the four bonus tracks, so I took a chance...)]
The lyrics are often trite, but the melodies are generally quite catchy – and one song (I’m embarrassed to say which one) has become an earworm.
Of his three “solo” albums, I’d put this one behind the first one in terms of listenability. (No “Temporary Secretary” nor “Bogey Music” to skip past!)
As someone who cannot play any sort of musical instrument at all, I’m also impressed that McCartney does everything himself here. (I knew Paul was a good bass player, but the guitar solo in “Slidin’” both surprised and impressed me.)
So, yeah, I like McCartney III. (But, the one copy I bought is more than sufficient!)
(Tell me the truth: how much of the negativity towards the album around here is just a knee-jerk reaction to the SHites? It’s nowhere as bad as you guys had lead me to believe...)

[SHiTE on] Slidin' is the only track on Rockdown that includes other musicians (Abe on drums, Rusty on guitar). Paul is credited with guitar (and bass) on Slidin' and it does sound like his lead playing to me [/SHiTE off].

I haven't listened to it yet (I think I might today) but I did listen to a few quick samples and it sounds better than Egypt Station so that's already a good start.
Boozin', if you haven't heard NEW I'd definitely recommend it. There are a few tracks that are completely forgettable but the rest is pretty damn good. I'm glad I got to see him play some of the songs on tour, albeit almost 3 years after. I did also go to the Out There tour which was named after one of the tracks on NEW but it was the first leg before the album or even single came out so he wasn't playing those songs yet.

(The Wikipedia page for the album shows other artists for “track #7”, but I inadvertantly looked at the vinyl listing instead of the CD one. (“Deep Deep Feeling”, kicking off side two, is the 7th song on the vinyl LP.)

He’s been playing everything himself since the White Album.
Susan, you’re wearing your SHite sash in all its glory! Rock that runway!
You know by now we are making fun of those manchildren. Listen to whatever the fuck you want to listen to.
As far as the album goes, there’s one song that I think is his best in decades, Deep Deep Feeling. When he takes chances and puts cutesy Paul away he’s at his best. There are a few more decent ones. Find My Way is horrible. I find the rest kinda middling and don’t do anything for me.
Trust me, I have more McCartney related music than anyone so I’m not a hater. But the guy’s voice is shot, and there are so many other new artists I’d rather put my energy towards.

Have you heard of this new group Neutral Milk Hotel? There are lots of new artists I like. Green Day, Stone Temple Pilots, Django Reinhardt.

(The ensemble also includes a tiara and 6” heels...) Yeah, Paulie’s voice isn’t so great, but it doesn’t really mar the album, AFAIC. The dude is what, 78 years old? I’m just surprised that a good number of the songs actually grew on me. “Deep Deep Feeling”, “Women and Wives”, “Slidin’” are the ones that I’ve been enjoying the most. I also like “Long Tailed Winter Bird”, but wish it had been pruned down a lot (it’s too long and repetitive). If it been a short intro to the album (ala “The Lovely Linda” from his first solo LP) I think it would have been more effective. Unlike II, I can play III all the way through without skipping any tracks.

No, Susan, it’s not an issue if you enjoy this album, we’re just mocking the fans who hail it as a masterpiece and order ten copies to get the bonus tracks or the alternate artwork, regardless of its quality. … … … … … … Guys, we’re totally banning her, as we all said in our PMs, aren’t we?

I've been too busy blasting the Rockshow DVD in a dark room and pretending I'm at the concert.
