Biden wasn't my first, second or fifth choice for president but things were so fucking bad that he's still an improvement. I don't like the airstrikes, I don't like the fact that it's taking fucking forever to get COVID relief, I don't like the fact that he's coddling a brutal fucking Saudi Arabian murderer because dealing with it for real would be "too difficult." But none of this is unexpected in the least. I'd much rather have President Warren or President Sanders, but this is what we got.
When I look at what's going down at that disgraceful CPAC conference right now, I'm reminded of how much worse it could be. I seriously hope that the fat orange anus starts his own party because it's the one thing that might actually keep Republicans from winning in 2024.

You had to know this was coming. We always think we're getting some Democratic hero a la Bernie, but we wind up getting a center-right Republican DINO. Same with Obama. We thought we were getting "hope and change" but really just got "smarter than Bush". I never had any misconceptions about this. In fact, I expected his first month to be much worse than it has turned out.
Also: It's been a little over a month and everybody's losing their shit. Fucking insect memory.
I'm mostly with you. I knew I was gonna be let down, I just didn't think it would be so soon. This is also the tragedy of what happened with donnie. It's further proof that they just want the job and will say anything to get it. Trump was never gonna do anything for anyone except himself and his kids. But all these clowns like dudley morris and GiantAssleach thought he was the Second Coming and was gonna change the game. No, all he did was make it safe to uae THOSE words about THOSE people. I knew what I was getting into with Joe Biden. There's no illusions. But really, it was less than 2 months ago that people were storming the Capital over donnie losing the election. There's no difference between today and, say, March 14, 2017, except for the pandemic. Shit rarely changes. I suppose this is what a lot of us meant when said "back to normal". We've got time and money to drop bombs but can't even get the minimum wage up from 7.25 an hour. This is also the main difference between us normal people and trump supporters. When Biden does something wrong, we call him on it. We don't twist ourselves into partisan pretzels to defend and play 'what about'. Either way, it's a gorgeous Saturday, just the dog and I at home, so it's time to relax. Have a great weekend, everyone.

You articulated it much better than I could, so I'll just say: first one I thought of this^

Eight Democrat senators, including two from my state, voted to kill the $15 minimum wage as part of the Covid relief bill. Fuck you Democrats. Anyone telling me the Dems are the lessor of two evils can go fuck right the fuck off. Kyrsten Sinema looked downright jubilant voting thumbs down for the bill. This is bad. *Really* bad.

You HONESTLY think things would be better now had Trump won? And if Georgia hadn’t flipped, absolutely NOTHING would be getting done now at all if McConnell still controlled the Senate. “Lessor of two evils” is bullshit. The goddamn Republican Party is merrily traipsing its way to full-on white-supremest fascism.

I didn't say anything about things being better under Trump but absolutely *nothing* is getting done for working class Americans. Dems are "merrily traipsing" all over their own constituents by voting against the things that matter to them most: an increased wage, healthcare in the midst of a pandemic, student debt relief, etc, etc. Nothing is fundamentally changing for them. But please go ahead and continue to pretend that anyone who is struggling cares about white supremacist fascism in a party that no longer has any power in any branch of government right now.

Better than Trump is a political calculus that made sense during the election. But make no mistake "$2000 checks out the door" is what flipped Georgia. That it became $1400 eventually to less people is really hurting the Democrats right now. As is gleefully voting down an increase to the minimum wage. I fucking hate Trump and the Republicans. People criticizing Biden and the Dems to do better and follow through on what they ran on are not saying the Republicans are better, we are trying to help the Dems be popular enough to stave off the death cult in 2022 and 2024.

The Republicans will take the Senate back in 2022. I will all but guarantee that. The Democrats will continue to play slap and tickle, won't get jack shit done that helps anyone, the news will keep donnie in the news as a way to tell us "See, it could be worse! Better keep the Dems in power!", nothing will fundamentally change, and we will continue to be governed by center-right Republicans/DINOs.
Breakfast time.

When I was a kid in the 70s, soft rock bands looked like filthy middle age men. Now that I'm in my 50s, those soft rock bands still look like filthy middle age men.
