Is this for real or a great example of wretched excess?

By pure accident I came across the following on the internet:
AudioQuest NRG Dragon High-Current 15-Amp AC Power Cable - 3 Meters = $ 14,200.00 !!!!
In the world of audio one grows a pretty thick skin on pricing, but I have to admit this "takes the cake" . This is a ( admittedly great looking) power cord - nothing more, nothing less.
I really would like to understand at what level is a price tag of $ 14 k remotely reasonable - is there something that I am not seeing - other than ..

If I could afford almost $5K per meter for a fucking cord, it had better fellate me (and fellate me well) while I am listening to my audiophool rekkids on my ultra-expensive hi-fi!
Synthfreek is using them for audiophile quality waffles & coffee!
Peasants, I've installed these on my kitchen appliances.
Action Pact looks deep and discovers the perk that makes this cord a bargain!
It may seem expensive until you realize that the shipping is free!
Old Zorki II doesn't want this cheap shit.
Amazingly enough it is not even close to be most expensive cable. For example 3 meters of this cable High Fidelity Cables Professional Series Double Helix Signature Power Cord
will cost you more then $30K. Of course it is only for professionals (I assume doctors and lawyers) .
Or Suchavati Power Cord by Pranawire is $40K for just 2 meters (I am sure for $60K they will make 3 meters one).
So in reality this $14K pedestrian Audioquest cords are just for people who cannot hear finer qualities of stereo reproduction.

If Kostas is smart, he'll start a business to make ultra-expensive cable risers.
The cable holders are not, you can't expect this cable to touch the floor...
Petie53 knows a better place to spend the money.
Well it would buy a decent entry level phono cartridge. :buttkick:
Anton D is ready to open his high-end audiophool shop.
The only way this cable could sound any better is if they charged double.
harby, might be on to something here
The thing that is important to realize is they have a $10000 cable to normalize their laughable scam $50 cable.
BroJB is a sad vacuum cleaner salesman
I find the audiophile industry endlessly fascinating.
An entire market built around a relatively small group of people willing to spend unbelievable sums of money to chase something they can never actually reach.
Other industries must look on with envy and awe. Because, if Hoover could get away with selling $8000 roller brushes that promise to provide the most realistic vacuuming ever, you know damn well they would.

Then they starting babbling about ultra-expensive watches and I got bored...
