Why don’t they come down among the commoners, and visit this forum and others, for direct engagement with us, and conduct surveys asking us diehard fans what we would most like to have included? We probably know, better than them, what should be and is most worthy of inclusion. One being given the job of selection does not make him the most qualified. In this world of streaming dominance, there’s really no excuse for making a substandard physical product—like with the Isnt it a Pity v2 debacle. Any super deluxe set should first be field tested—either to the entire public or with a more select group—before deciding the contents of a physical release, since time and time again they’ve shown themselves to be quite human and fallible as far as suspect mixing decisions and exclusions of treasures. And it’s really quite offensive to me them calling their subjective, 50 years on mixes the “Ultimate” mixes. Get over yourself, you’re not the Beatles.

Yes, why won't they speak to us Cheetos stained, jobless, unkept assholes before spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to release stuff?

If I owned a record label/masters/etc. and dared to do a "field test" with these degenerates, I'd probably say "Fuck 'em" after the thousandth page of bitching and shitcan the entire release.

Some surround remix releases have actually been 'field tested' by beta testers (not me!) at Quadraphonic Quad first. Guess what: they still got released with mistakes. (The excuse: "er, actually I wasn't really familiar with the album...but they asked me so I said yes")

The Isn't It a Pity v2 Debacle (whatever the fuck that was) = worse than COVID. The bigger debacle is that there’s a second version of that song.

Then when people from the industry do sign up they get bitched at to the point where they never want to return. Insulted by half-deaf nitwits who can’t tell the difference between a digital artifact and just a damn cymbal. Get over yourself, SHFers, you’re not in charge.

One I can remember was Sean Magee who cut the Beatles Stereo Vinyl albums at Abbey Road Studio. The SHites ambushed and insulted him to make his stay very short. They even pissed off their audio hero Barry Diament also. I know there are others in the audio profession who signed on there and were treated very rudely by the SHites and left. Who the hell would stay over there just to be insulted by a bunch of audio hack idiot amateurs.

The plangent process thread is exhibit A in why no one should ever give a shit what these dimwits think.
All the record company needs to know is that they’ll buy it regardless of quality so there’s literally no need to ‘field test’ anything.

The funny part is that these idiots continue to buy any and all of these box sets regardless.
