Audiophiles, you never know where they'll turn up. But you know they will be assholes.

Russia is a primary manufacturer of vacuum tubes used in the audio industry, primarily guitar amps and high end audio. They are now embargoed. In one week's time, all of the distributors stocks are sold out. Prices have skyrocketed. People are hoarding as they fear they won't be able get tubes anymore.
There are still two other primary sources, China and the Slovak Republic. I don't know for certain, but the essential metals and materials used in their manufacture probably come from Russia also. They require very specific types of alloys and glass.
I'm in the high end audio business and sales have been very good. Well, at least they were. My industry is a tiny fragment of GDP, but this could be devastating for us. We will get lost in the noise. A certain "critical mass" of supply is necessary keep the industry viable. If Russian production shuts down for very long, it may not be able to be resurrected as everything that supports it will die also.
Supply disruptions then go very deep. The fallout from this war will spread far and wide and reach many other industries. I shouldn't complain. Millions may starve in Africa from the loss of Russian and Ukrainian wheat.
Slovakian tube production may have to resource from China, but that will take time. The Russian tube plant employs about 1000 people. Those jobs are gone. I'll be alright as I have my Social Security, but that may be all I have until this war is settled.
