Yes, well said, Alien.
Every level of government in the U.S., seemingly overnight, is filled with children. Ill-tempered brats who know nothing about compromise, nothing about decorum, nothing about how to govern. The right, not surprisingly, is most vulnerable to these specimens who fill their days with name-calling and chest-beating while doing nothing productive. Can all of it be traced to the ascension of a single vulgar man-toddler? Well, who else would you point at as the one who made this kind of garbage seem acceptable to reptile-brained punks of a similar disposition?
Fuck this country, we're hopeless.

This is definitely the post-Trump USA we're living in now. Even if Trump falls flat in 2024, this type of rhetoric and behavior is part of the mindset even at this level now. This type of bullshit is "OK," because we're back to primitive playground behavior at the highest levels now. It completely seeped in, and it has surely been filtering down to every level of discourse. Just last week, it was interesting to see Nikki Haley call Vivek Ramaswamy "scum" right on a debate stage. Sure that conman spouts his complete nonsense at every chance he gets, but the fact that trying to display any sort of higher intelligence or class on this type of stage is no longer needed shows where we are since Trump normalized all of these type of attacks on folks' looks, disabilities, gender, ethnicity, etc. I'm guessing it only a matter of time before one candidate will be on stage during a debate or in a hearing, and the response will be, "Hey bitch! Why don't you shut your whore mouth and know your place" and it just won't be that big of a deal... Maybe I just got old, but I just could not even imagine as of this type of nonsense before 2016. Every once in a while, I sit down, read what's on my phone, and I see the most perfect post. And this post, right here, wins that award. Kudos to you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That's very nice of you to acknowledge that, and I appreciate it... I just found that display so disturbing and I just can't get past it. What I can't get out of my head -- I think about if I behaved in my workplace with 1/4 of the actions that this senator displayed... Security would have me out the door so f###ing fast. If I behaved this way in my office because of what somebody said about me on Twitter, I don't know how I would ever defend it. And then to go post pictures on Twitter in front of 50 guns calling the other guy out? I'd be under surveillance in about two seconds with everyone thinking I'm inches away from going on a shooting rampage.

I remain and will die a resolute Bernie Sanders fan, but I regret he didn't feel empowered to kick that asshole right out of the room permanently, for literally standing up threatening to fight a government witness in full view of the nation.
This is all the fault of the idiots who voted a real-life Wrestlemania villain into the Oval Office because he subconsciously reminded them of their own asshole fathers.

The planet is dying and we’re on the cusp of WWIII but this is what the pig faced morons are concerned with. I recall when those two scenarios used to seriously frighten me. For the past couple of years I found myself posing the question to myself if not one, the other or a combo of both may not be the best for all involved.

In happier news, frail and gaunt Jimmy Carter, a good and decent man who is obviously very near the end of his life, has outlived vile sack of shit Henry Kissinger.

I saw Cucked Husbands at the Fillmore in Detroit in 1990. Hell of a show. I was surprised they didn't play "Jerking in the Closet", but they were probably burnt out on it.
