That’s what, 25 people in 2 weeks? Between Buffalo and Texas? Christ.

But... Jesus! Guns! Babies! Pinheads! I hate these cocksuckers. Is this really the legacy the Trumptards want to leave their poor kids?

Wholeheartedly agreed. Every time this shit is repeated I am in equal parts angry and brokenhearted.* But you're correct, we are fucked. If Sandy Hook didn't change anything, nothing will. I just hope and pray very day my two grand kids come home from school.
* Edit: but I am no longer "shocked" or "stunned" by these events. And what does that say?

It's easier to buy an assault rifle in Texas than to register to vote. That's the Republican way.

These babies’ bodies, lying dead on the floor of an elementary school, are so badly mangled, their parents and professionals on scene are having to resort to DNA and the clothes they were wearing when they left home this morning to identify them.
Think about that for a minute. Just fucking think about it. Weapons that can do that to the human body are legal for civilians to own, and 18-year-olds can buy them on their birthday.

Vinyl is final/Not Insane is in the thread there comparing this to car accidents on the way to school and using frying pans as weapons. For those who can access Off Topic: forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/uvalde-texas.1146495/I agree. I did some research the last time this sort of thing happened and came up with this: Some perspective: 1. There are over 100,000 public schools in the US. This does not include private schools. 2. Approximately 250 children are killed every year in transit to and from school. How many are killed in these shootings per year? I think it is imperative that we get to the bottom of finding out what kind of person does this and handle future threats accordingly. We don't blame the cars for drunk driver deaths and we shouldn't blame the tool here either. We need to attack the root cause. And the root cause involves what motivates people to kill other people en-mass, be it with a gun, a knife, a car or an explosive. Blaming it on the tool is a cop-out. Kids used to bring a rifle to school in hopes of bagging dinner on the way home. There were no shootings like this back then. We have a serious character problem in some places. Fortunately, this sort of thing is very rare. And as with drunk, impared or texting drivers killing people, we need to focus on the real problem before we can come up with any kind of REAL solution. And the problem is not the alcohol, smart phone, car or gun. It's the person. And yes, this is tragic. Too tragic to politicize. Different countries have different challenges. One has to ask, how many robberies, burglaries, rapes, murders, etc. were prevented by "good guys with guns" that would not have the gun if the laws suggested every time one of these shootings happens were to actually get implemented? My solution for all this is simple. Home schooling. I consider modern public schools to be dangerous in a lot of ways. How many bullied children kill themselves every year? There are a lot of ways to be killed by unhinged people. Shooting is just one. And it's a favorite where guns are more available. Where they aren't, knives and explosives, or just plain running someone over are all popular. Bottom line is the weapon is not the root problem. The person is. You don't solve a problem until you attack the root problem. I'm holding judgement on the whole situation until we learn about the shooter and his motives, as well as if there were any warning signs ignored. And not to put too fine a point on it, but here is the definition of an assault weapon: Something used as a weapon to assault someone. This can include frying pans, an old tennis trophy, or even your car. AR-15's are just rifles that "look military".

Home schooling is the answer. That idiot is being schooled and he doesn’t even realize it.

The things I'd like to say right now about Vinyl Is Final would even get me banned here.

Number of times he refers to a gun, weapon, or shooting in that post: 10+ Number of times he refers to a murdered child victim in that post: Zero
