So, copies mean lost forever. Burned up medieval church rebuilt, means not lost.
What a fucking retard.

Serious question: Which event caused the loss of decades and decades of culture, including master tapes of albums? The Universal Fire or the flood in Steve’s basement?

forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/the-remaining-vinyl-grails.1151528/page-6RichC It is pretty amazing that this California fire in 2008 affecting only recordings from the MCA days of Universal and all the sub-labels it owned at the time managed to burn up all the PolyGram labels’ (A&M, Motown, Island, etc) masters that were stored on the other side of the country and the EMI recordings that Universal wouldn’t get until 2013.

So, in 2007 Rick Rubin signed a deal that moved the entire back catalog to Universal. And the fire happened in 2008. The math actually checks out. And the fact that the vinyl reissues and the box set last year were all from the remasturbated bullshit digital files means that shit prolly burnt up

Oh, I read it just fine. It's cute, but not accurate. Must be from Wikipedia, because TBC's "catalog" never made it back to Warner's and there is no TBC product distributed by WEA from 2007-2012. They went from Def American/American to Columbia in 1997; all the tapes went to Sony. They got remastered at that time, and no one has seen ANY of the masters since. Not the multi-tracks, not the original DAT masters...nadda. Fuck, it just dawned on me, anyone check Hoofy's house?
