The thing I most want from Peter Jackson is a streaming, fictional TV series which he oversees - where each episode is based on a Beatles song character. These would each be directed and starring different casts. We would have an mournful Eleanor Rigby (maybe with a dark secret,) or the love story between Dan and Lil, who everyone knew as Nancy. We could get a twisted Maxwell, and a tranquil Prudence (based on a true story.) The city life of Rita, and Bill on a tiger hunt. The nameless taxman, meets the nameless aspiring novelist. There are well more than enough for two seasons. If this is done with quality, and input from Paul and Ringo, this series could introduce these songs to a new audience in a creative way. And if filled with Easter eggs, I would love it all the more. I'd definitely be interested in that. "Rocky Raccoon" episode set in the Wild West directed by The Coen Brothers. "Dear Prudence" set in India directed by Wes Anderson. "Eleanor Rigby" set in Liverpool, directed by Peter Jackson...Etc. Even if they did 10 episodes total, could be really special if well done. Sounds fun. Also, before coming to characters like Lucy, Lady Madonna and co., the pilot episode actually should contain the story of an unknown group called the Merry Quen that eventually became popular as the Teables. Back in the 80s there were talks of that very type of show. I’ve been waiting for it since. Songs with proper names in their titles: Hey Jude Rocky Raccoon Eleanor Rigby Martha My Dear Lovely Rita Sexy Sadie Dear Prudence Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds Julia Mr. Kite Mr. Mustard Polythene Pam Bungalow Bill Dr. Robert That's 14. Plenty for a full season, or two 7-episode seasons. Though they don't have proper names in the titles, they would possibly do Taxman to get a "George episode", and Octopus's Garden for a "Ringo episode"? Maxwell...I think they would possibly skip this one with the whole murder aspect. Hey Bulldog...maybe the lead character's nickname could be "Bulldog"... But I love this idea. Basically 30 minute short films using each song as inspiration for the story, and you hear the song in the credits. By the way, how about a Mister Postman episode? I know, not an original Beatle song but that's a character that also could get a nice story.

Rocky Raccoon? Fuck that, how about Why Don't We Do It In The Road?, with a dream sequence featuring Johnny and Brian.

These rejects really think that successful, acclaimed, and working directors would drop whatever they're doing if Ringo Starr called.

When I'm 64.
The protagonist named Dave-O spends most of the episode mending a fuse, doing the garden, then looking for his car keys for 2 hours, which were on a lanyard he was wearing the whole time. At the end he drives his Merkur into a lake with Vera, Chuck and Dave.
Director: Steve Hoofman. Script: Jim Tavegia

Script: Jim Tavegia Well, if Dave-O is gonna be mending fuses, he really should be equipped with this wonderful item: PAUL’S “FIXIN’ A HOLE” HANDYMAN OUTFITYou’ve seen those fingers attached to our own Paulie’s hands flying like magic over the strings of his custom-built Gretsch bass and probably said to yourself, “Sure, he can pick that bass like a bloody wizard, but can he grout tile or insulate an attic? I doubt it.” Well if that was the way that you felt, you were dead wrong! Paul can drive a nail as well as the next guy, and probably better! He’s even designed a “FIXIN’ A HOLE” HANDYMAN OUTFIT just for you! Included in this outstanding KIT are specially designed tools for rock ‘n’ roll carpenters, such as: One SGT. PEPPER’S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BANDSAW: complete with two blades. One MAXWELL’S SILVER (PLATED) HAMMER: will do anything a hammer’s supposed to do…and more! One set BILLY (TIN) SHEARS And double-edged NO RE-PLIERS. And a bottle of BEATLEMONIA – to clean those hard-to-remove stains. Plus Paul’s own FIXIN’ A HOLE OVERALLS! =P416: $99.95(from the October 1977 issue of National Lampoon)
