Questionable, in that I think it’s exaggerated …. Macca says that when the Beatles split up, he was plunged into despair, thought his career was over, didn’t get out of bed for weeks/months and just lay there getting drunk and/or stoned. While I think he may have had days like that (maybe only one day?), I don’t think that for one minute he thought he was finished. If one Beatle was going to make it as a solo artist, that was him: the others knew it, and he did, too. So, while it makes a good story to talk about the going on an at home bender and being pulled out of the slough of despond by Linda, I don’t think it was that protracted or dramatic. He had a bit of a rest, got a bit angsty, then ploughed on with a solo album. I have also doubted the story of drinking heavily for an extended period. Good drama, though. That just doesn't seem like Pau

There's stories about John and heroin. Ringo and alcohol. George and cocaine. Well, all of them and cocaine. I don't believe any of it. Doesn't sound like our boys.
