The Fringe just can’t let it go, just won't let it go and the fact that his bitch sister had the nerve to play his 45 of Mandy forty years ago still eats him the fuck up.

“Short story: when I was in my early twenties, I was attending a college out of state. So upon going back from my Christmas break, I packed my System, AR turntable, Pioneer SA-7500 and Pioneer speakers so that my siblings could not touch my system. I asked my little sister, about age 13, to NOT touch my records (still on the shelf) to not play them on the family Zenith record player. She promised she would not!
I returned home for Spring break, and could not wait to set up my gear. I knew immediately, some of my records had lost some clarity, very light distortion on transients, etc., ie: 45's my sister liked, "Emotion" by Samantha Sang, "Saturday Night Fever" LP soundtrack, "I Write the Songs" 45 RPM, "Mandy" 45 RPM. My classic rock collection was untouched, because she was into pop/disco. I asked her why she played my records? She denied it" I insisted I KNEW she did, that the Zenith ruined my records.. I asked you not to do that... which then she screamed back at me "I played them only once."
I allowed my siblings to play records on my system, who could handle the manual AR arm, including my little sister.. when I was not away! But she stole my 2% that made the difference. My joy of listening is that 2% difference, including my mint 45's. (purchased new) These same records could be visually graded NM, today, and play graded reasonably as NM. But VG++ would be more accurate given only one play on a ceramic cartridge (BSR changer), Zenith consumer level system.
So we could always have some regard for a record that plays reasonably well, and enjoy it. However, I think almost everyone would place their vote on the NM record, given everything else equal”
