Paulette asks "Tell Me What Brought You To SHMF"and comments "For me, I had recently become a Black Sabbath fan. I was consuming everything in sight to learn about them and Ozzy specifically too. One of my questions/searches brought me here and I immediately became a member. Right away, I created the thread, "Tell Me What You Know About Ozzy". Having a great time!!! Thanks to you Steve Hoffman"
EVOLVIST says: "I wanted to know everything about music, and here you can learn anything, and beyond." Wayneklein says: "A member who sadly doesn’t post here any longer wrote a review of a brick walled album and mentioned the forum and—magic happened." Bobby Morrow says: "It was finding a thread on Olivia Newton-John’s box set. Shocker, right. I knew Mr Hoffman from albums I owned that were mastered by him, but a lso from some really vicious reviews of his work that were cropping up on Amazon US at that time. I realise now that probably those reviews were posted by people who’d been ‘let go’ from here." Umm, no Bobby, those were probably actual "audiophiles" Book of Saturday (Member status) says: "Did a Google search about the old music store The Wall and turned up a thread here. Had a look around and saw a lot of knowledgeable, enthusiastic people and a noticeable absence of the kind of cattiness and hair splitting that sometimes plagues message boards." Stick around mate, you're only a "member", you'll find out soon enough. pblmow says: "Advice of a family member." Really? But this is the best one... Agasht of Ithaca says: "I live in a man and wife relationship with one of the moderators, so I suppose I just wanted to come here and see what he does all day." Written by someone who has never been in a man and woman type relationship. And Grant has final word with: "I still have very little in common with the people of this forum, or anywhere else, but I stay..." forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/tell-me-what-brought-you-to-shmf.728763/

Written by someone who has never been in a man and woman type relationship. Nooo...needed to say that about his phony relationship so Myke didn't detect no funny stuff. He forgot the all important [one] man.

I saw that thread, and I can't for the life of me remember what thought I had immediately prior to signing up. I had landed at Hoofer's a few times when Googling stuff, and I think I might have joined because I wanted to use the search function.
I'd love a forum where I could talk about music, and people would be knowledgeable and intelligent, maybe even have a shred of humor.
I've given up the search. Frankly, Stereo Central is about as good as it gets.

The Thread continues... I'd like to see this Cee Dee made of gold. It does appear that Paulette is not very bright and probably has some kind of spectrum disorder so I think we should leave her well alone (well most of the time) but as she is the only female interaction many SHites get it is interesting to see how they are being "nice" to her as opposed to the similarly mentally composed "The Beatles Fan" who's video was posted here yesterday Steve hoffman music fourm owner bullied me. (But I would like to know more about him. How old is he - does he own that big house etc etc?) I can't for the life of me think why I signed up for Hoofer's place (I had never heard of him before) but I remember not long after this tragic event googling "Steve Hoffman Cunt" and found the top hit "Steve Hoffman Lying Cunt" that brought me to the old Stereo Central :-)

I doubt Aghst of Ithaca is being serious about being hitched to a moderator, but that's the case it could make this commment even more poignant. Back in 2015 on the infamous Kim Fowley thread, Aghast wrote:

I was trying to find a decent mastering of Zappa's You Are What You Is and I wound up there.

I suspect his moderator comment was a dry joke.

I've never worshipped at the altar of the Mullet- I just thought the forum was a cool place to discuss music with like minded people. It didn't take long, however, to realize just how many annoying fucks, people with unhealthy obsessions with certain artists and argumentative assholes inhabit that place.
I know that my days there are definitely winding down now though- they're rapidly running out things to talk about over in SHiTEland, just repeating themselves at this point...

I poated there on and off from the early days before stopping last year, when I realized that there was actually no love of music or even music reproduction, just another way for aging decrepit white men to obsess over each other's cock in the form of a gear profile, reminisce about the good 'ol days when wimminz were wimminz, and fight over being the next one to give Hoof a rimjob. Look, I'm an audiophile nerd too, don't spend huge $$$ but I seek out good stuff, and I'm 99% satisfied with what I got. But JFC if I don't take life seriously enough to be part of the no fun club over there. Make fun of me all day and I'll laugh with you.

Some of the most sensitive, quick-to-summon-a-Gort pricks over there also think that they have great senses of humor. I like it when M*****l or someone of that ilk posts a bon mot and it falls flat. It is only a matter of time before some clueless tard responds to it, taking it seriously at face value.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, MYKE has finally chimed in:
MYKE SAYS: "Well, in 2010, I had been buying so-called "audiophile" versions of CDs, all on my own, with no guidance whatsoever, past what my ears presented to me, and my son requested I find such a version of Bad Company's debut. So after a little Googling, I saw that Audio Fidelity had just released a gold disc of that very album, and that Steve Hoffman had remastered it. " Isn't his name on some of these other CDs ? " I thought to myself. A little more Googling, and here I was ! (hat tilting emoji)"
Even that fucking son had to get a look-in too on this story. CUNT.
