When his thread was outrageously locked, stanlove moved to the Advice on an alternate version of Dylan's Desire album thread, which had conveniently just opened.
Stop victimizing victims familys, Dylan, you fucking liar, and write a better side one, track one to Desire right now, you bastard.

I took Hurricane off because the song victimized victims family'sand I could not enjoy it. I can't listen to a song that is just a bunch of lies about a murder. I can't enjoy movies that butcher the truth about real events either. Just me. These are real people we are talking about. I have trouble with Hattie Carroll also and can't listen to it.

I don't generally understand these threads re-editing albums. The artist knew what he wanted and intended and gave you the album of his choice. He knows better what he wanted to say than we do. Take the record on the artist's terms.

All I care about is what I want to listen to. Why would I care what the artist thinks is best?

There's not doubt that Dylan when through a period in the early '80s where it seemed like he didn't know what he wanted and made some puzzling choices and left a lot of what has become classic material unfinished or off albums. But that does not describe the material left off Desire or the choices about what was put on it.

Way too complicated. This is the way it works for me. I listen to songs and decide what i like and what I don't. I don't see how the artists opinion matter at all.

This strikes me as one of the oddest reactions to the creative work of others that I've ever encountered. I reads to me like saying, I don't care what the novelist intended, I only care about the meanings and event I imagine are taking place in the book.

All this hate for Hurricane and Joey leaves me cold. Be reasonable, people. Dylan isn't attacking anyone's family or victimizing the victims, not intentionally and not unintentionally. That is just absolute nonsense.

It did victimize the victims family and they said as much. Patty Valetine also said so and sued him. Are you trying to say that hearing this song that defends the person who killed your family member does not victimize the victims family? I know it's easy for us to say because it was not our family members that was slaughtered.
Yes i would expect Dylan to maybe care about the facts of a murder and then spread propaganda. Dylan's iinterpritation was widely believed at the time because of his song. You got that correct.
