That guy is a complete asshole, one of the worst there. But it really is a good point. None of their fancy equipment means shit if they can't fucking hear.
But, as has been discussed here, the whole equipment profile thing is just a bullshit ruse anyway. It's a marketing profile.

I like that Ham Sandwich guy. He admits he can't hear normal, every day sounds yet he has special "audiophile hearing" powers. I think some of these guys listen like people remember things. They think hear what they used to hear, even though they actually hear tinnitus and ear wax.

On a forum full of aging boomers who claim they have superhuman hearing, often times outside the range of physically possibility (hi Barry!), it could also be the SHites are afraid of what the results of a hearing test might show. |

I'd love to see the hearing range of some of these boomer "hi-rez" advocates. I've never visited an audiologist, but various online tests have confirmed I can't hear shit above 16 kHz and I'm not even 50 yet.

I've never visited an audiologist, but various online tests have confirmed I can't hear shit above 16 kHz and I'm not even 50 yet. I believe most audiologists only test up to 8 kHz due to the costs of equipment that can accurately reproduce 16 Khz on up. So the audiophools can say what they want at the upper frequencies as there is no proof stating otherwise. Would jH901 submit to a test using ear buds? |
