Fat pimply Ghostworld starts a doom and gloom thread about Netflix and this guy "genesim" goes to town:
They've been around since 1997 and are now at $300 a share
Frustrated, fired TV exec?
Wow, what a fucking nutter. It goes on....

Oh its "a" future, but is it a stable one?
We shall see.
We shall see.

The problem I got with Netflix is that it encourages the move away from physical media. You can see the impact with how less material is being released in the United States and going overseas in much more lush packages.
In the case of many of these shows, they are being released at a blistering rate, with more extras, and better quality. Yet there sits American stuck with the shows that were created in the native country, going with either A. stream only, or B. Manufactured on Demand burned DVD-R BD-R CRAP.
And yet there sits people eating up the art in no permanent save state with a knife and a spoon.
(WTF is he talking about?)
I hope Netflix falls under its own weight. It will be a wake-up call for the people that have propelled their whole lives to the "TV ONLY" mentality.
Disney are no fools and they should have never gave up their Marvel rights to a half ass licensing company. Yes I said it.

While they are some fans that will love and suport anything that Netflix does down to buying stuffed Netflix bears, I for one appreciate your level headed response.
Netflix is a sad situation where they are ignoring nurturing their talent and instead just throwing more and more money at the problem.
I want there to be a streaming/renter alternative to owning. I don't want a company that thinks they can replace it.
The move to stop investing in physical bluray premium content is where I jumped ship. It was the sign that it was turning destructive instead of constructive.
But who knows, maybe I am wrong. They have been a big surprise....but even the best can't win every hand. Their careless debt plunge is not smart.
