The “Last Guitar Hero” thread is basically just idiots posting random guitar players.

The “Last Guitar Hero” thread is basically just idiots posting random guitar players. That's every single thread asking for examples of something on that forum. It doesn't matter how specific the request is either. The ass hats immediately come out and name every songle artist/musician that DOESN'T fit the criteria in the slightest.

Top 20 solo Beatles B-sides?I vividly remember getting 'Instant Karma' in its picture sleeve when it was released. Played it over and over. The b-side not so much.

Youd think this would be straight forward
Bands where the guitarist has a lesser role
OP explains We know that the guitarist in a band is often the key musical figure, frequently being the main songwriter or at least a key part of the style, sound and direction.
Which bands can you think of where the guitarist has a lesser role, and even a quite diminished one?
I am not really thinking of trios with a singer/bassist as that is too obvious, so not really The Police, Motorhead, Thin Lizzy etc, though comments on them welcome as well. Just kind of goes without saying that the guitarists in these bands didn't have the same prominence as Sting, Lemmy, Phil Lynott etc.
Mainly trying to think of bands where somehow the bassist and/or drummer had more of a key role than the guitarist. Motley Crue with Mick Mars perhaps?
Some answers:
DooDee:L Weather Report never had a guitarist.
WIzz-Kid: The original line-up of Cockney Rebel also did not have a guitarist… mainly violin, keyboards and string arrangements.
Then there are the bands with guitar as a prominant part of the sound given as examples:
dance_hall_keeper: Perhaps Squeeze
Progdrummer76: Although never a proper band, I'm going to go with Steely Dan.
Steely Dan? Really? I can't think of a group more known for various guitar solos and however many takes it took to get them than Steely bloody Dan.

It’s like suggesting Van Halen and using their song Sunday Afternoon In The Park as proof.

Guy asks for help to upgrade his system with a $2,000 budget.
Post #6 asks about adding a streamer/dac.
Post #7 answer from OP-"I should have specified in original post, I don't really stream on my stereo. I have a decent record collection and some CDs. If I do stream I connect my laptop to the Emotiva via Aux and stream tidal. That is extremely rare though. 99% of streaming I listen to with my headphone setup. 75% of my stereo listening is vinyl 25% CD."
Post fucking #12-"Well, you could add a high-quality streaming DAC to your setup, something like an Auralic Altair G1.1 (now on sale for $2,249 from Auralic) or a Matrix mini-i Pro 4 ($959 at Apos). One of those and a smartphone and an inexpensive subscription to Qobuz or Tidal would expand your access to music by about 5 or 6 orders of magnitude over depending on LPs only."
Because 7 fucking posts were too much, lazy assholes.

The bizarre musician death thread asks for no run of the mill deaths like shootings and plane crashes. What follows are hundreds of posts about shootings and plane crashes.

Families where Parent and Child are Both Prominent Recording Artists and….….the Child is more successful commercially AND receives more critical acclaim. Was posed this question by a family member and this post is, I suppose, cheating. The “AND” is what makes it hard. I proposed Aretha and her Dad, CL Franklin - but received blowback that CL is known first as a preacher and less as a singer/musician. I dispute that argument, but want to come back with a clear winner. Help? Clint Eastwood and Kyle Eastwood? Clint is prominent and somewhat of a recording artist, and Kyle has over a dozen albums. Roseanne Cash Johnnys daughter Carlene Carter Junes daughter Joachim Cooder. Son of... He plays in almost al the records of his father, but did make, (if I'm not wrong...) only one Album by hiself. A very good one, too, because "over that board I'm bound", well, I love it much. Putting here an album of RY COODER could be difficult... he has so many VERY good ones! So I decided for his box "1979 - 1987" Jason Bonham - John Bonham John Lennon - Julian Lennon Phil Collins - Simon Collins Alicia Keys - Egypt Dean Eddie Van Halen - Wolfang Van Halen George Harrison - Dhani Harrison Ravi Shankar - Norah Jones The Hewsons: Bono, his son Elijah (frontman of the band Inhaler), daughter Eve (actress). since this has sort of morphed into a parent/child thread" warren and jordan zevon stephen and chris stills glenn and deacon frey james, carly and ben taylor Nat King Cole Natalie Cole Frank Sinatra Nancy Sinatra Frank Zappa Dweezil Zappa

In the Post An Atmospheric 80s Song thread everyone is posting appropriate songs by artists like The Church, Dream Academy, Simple Minds, Cocteau Twins, etc. Psychedelic Good Trip is posting REO Speedwagon, Foreigner and Scorpions.
