What winds up happening is the OP ends up relaxing the rules so it's another worthless thread because anything goes, just because the precious thread "gained traction." If you try to say something about people not following the rules, YOU'RE the asshole.

I think all of those ‘list three Beatle songs recorded on a Tuesday precisely 5 hours and 27 minutes after Paul McCartney took a dump’ threads useless anyways.

Were I over there I'd start a "Name a band that isn't Pomplamoose" thread.

All these "Name an album with a 'D' as the sixth letter of the third word in the title" threads remind me of the sad/sorry/cringeworthy geek chatter you'd overhear coming from the squirrelly Dungeons & Dragons lunch table in middle school. What I didn't realize then was that those people would forever have the mentality of a 13-year-old. Worse are threads like “songs that get your blood flowing” with 700 YouTube videos. Most by Svetenio or whatever his fucking name is.

The threads are incredibly stupid, which is why it's all the more insane that people who would bother to participate don't even read the thread title.

Just goes to show that these threads are mostly a place to indulge personal obsessions with the hope of getting likey-clicks for doing so. If the title or original post tries to anticipate and rule out your specific obsession, that's just a reason to ignore it.

How stupid do you have to be to think that the OP was simply asking for albums that start with “the?”

Some dipshit in the 5 geniuses of the 20th century thread can't even read the title.
"Mozart Beethoven Louis Armstrong MacLen together only Morrissey
i like to see mention to Morton "you played it too ****ing loud and too ****ing fast" Feldman..."

"Mozart Beethoven Louis Armstrong MacLen together only Morrissey i like to see mention to Morton "you played it too ****ing loud and too ****ing fast" Feldman..." Even though Mozart and Beethoven were dead long before the 20th century started, I find the inclusion of Morrissey to be the most unforgivable part of that poat.

At least 5 albums and no dudsBands and artist that all studio albums are great no bad ones. Beatles won’t count for me because of yellow submarine i think talk talk and talking heads have solid output with no stinkers. Nick Drake End Of Thread  Only three studio albums. Doesn't fit the thread! Joy Division is also worth mentioning. The Pogues (I mean with Shane of course) Steely Dan (pre breakup) Please don’t omit parts of a discography that invalidates the topic for example Pink Floyd all albums up to final cut would ignore the Gilmour years The Clash I don’t count Cut the Crap because that LP did not include Mick Jones - there is no Clash without Mick Jones. Creedence Clearwater Revival sans Mardi Gras Man Who Sold The World, Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs. Pin-Ups was covers, doesn't count. Black Sabbath 1970 - 1975 (six albums) Led Zeppelin 1969 - 1975 (six albums, one a double) Kinks 1966 - 1971 (six albums) Who 1965 - 1973 (seven albums, not counting Magic Bus as that's not an album, and counting Live at Leeds) Bowie 1971 - 1980 (ten albums, not counting the live ones - which aren't bad themselves, and Pin Ups, because there's no original material) REM 1983 - 1987 (five albums) Rolling Stones 1968 - 1972 (five albums, one live and one a double) Elvis Costello 1977 - 1982 (six albums, not counting the country one) I believe the OP means no duds in an entire career, five albums minimum. I'd agree with The Doors, assuming we don't count the ones without Morrison The Who with Keith Moon. REM with Bill Berry. The Red Hot Chili Peppers with John Frusciante. The Moody Blues with Mike Pinder Elton John with the Elton John Band (Dee Murray, Nigel Olsson, Davey Johnstone) oh yeah..forgot the thread stipulated 5 albums. If we ignore Calling All Stations, I’d say Genesis. Original Alice In Chains (I haven't heard the post-Layne albums yet ) Duke Ellington (I think, but I haven't heard everything he did) Haven't read the whole thread, but no duds at all or no duds in the first 5 KISS King Crimson Sturgill Simpson is on his way with 1 more album Caravan thru 'Cunning Stunts' Man thru 'Maximum Darkness' ACDC Bon Scott High Voltage Jailbreak Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap Let There Be Rock Powerage I don't like Highway to Hell (a lot of noise, layers of guitars, lots of backing vocals, no breaks, no groove, only some good riffs). Kinks not counting live lps up past Soap Opera Rolling Stones until Mick Taylor left The Sensational Alex Harvey Band up past SAHB Stories But only the so and so years. If you don't count this or that album. Only the DLR years. But I don't count that album. etc. Like a bunch of babies. Warren Zevon if you don't count his first album. Nobody does. Over eleven pages this has probably been mentioned, but it bears repeating: Beggar's Banquet Let It Bleed Get Yer Ya Yas Out Sticky Fingers Exile On Main Street Sure, Ya Yas is live, but so what. Elvis Costello (until Goodbye Cruel World) Roxy Music (until Flesh + Blood) Van Halen (before DLR's departure) The Temptations first five were gems. Al Green was the premier Soul artist of the 1970s... 1.Al Green Gets Next To You (1971) 2.Lets Stay Together (1972) 3.I'm Still In Love With You (1972) 4.Call Me (1973) 5.Livin For You (1973) 6.Al Green Explores Your Mind (1974) 7.The Belle Album (1977) Van Halen (original lineup) If I'm only counting the first five: Led Zeppelin Black Sabbath Metallica AC/DC Lot's of duds after the 5th album. Well for the last three anyway. Why? Why would you only count the first five Well the OP said "at least five". I don't think AC/DC has been stellar their whole career. Ditto Sabbath and Metallica. Sabbath had six straight at least. ACDC 7 straight. Metallica five. And all of Zep. I guess what I'm saying is the rate limiting step here is Metallica at five and the others at "at least" five. I assumed you meant at least 5 in a row. R.E.M. had a great run on their first 5, although Document's not nearly as good as the first 4. The Doors if you discount the albums post-Morrison. Let It Bleed Beggar's Banquet Sticky Fingers Allman Brothers Band Fillmore East Manassas There's more..... Neil Young Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere After The Gold Rush Harvest Time Fades Away On The Beach Tonight’s the Night Zuma Now, if you include the OSR album, Journey Through The Past, then this breaks apart. Pretty impressive though! Brian Eno Here Come the Warm Jets Taking Tiger Mountain by Strategy Another Green World Discreet Music Before and After Science Hah. Misread. Thought five straight and no duds. Oops! ABC - The Lexicon Of Love through to Abracadabra I'm one for the Kinks whom probably had the best run of albums for 60's British rockers beyond the Fabs: Kontroversy (not a dud IMO... pretty great for '65) Face To Face Something Else Village Green Arthur Lola Percy (kind of a dud... soundtrack anyways) Muswell Hillbillies The first five albums by Queen and Black Sabbath. Not in a row, but Son Volt. Head East the first 5 with original line-up..
