I think if they were a bit more adventurous, Apple could have devised an album (or mini-album) on CD and vinyl around Now and Then, something that wasn't JUST a reissue of an old comp with N&T as the bonus track. While not a perfect record or anything, if they had remixed Free as a Bird and Real Love while they were mixing Now and Then, that's basically a Side 1 of a record. A little short, but it works well as a side with those three songs belonging together, in a sense. Side 2 could have been something like this, a 33-minute record? The Beatles - Now and Then Side A - about 14 min Free as a Bird Real Love Now and Then [30 seconds of Carnival of Light, a hidden track to end the side] Side 2 - about 19 min While My Guitar Gently Weeps (Love version, but with clean ending) Child of Nature (MAL remixed) Goodbye (MAL remixed - first stereo presentation) Revolution (Take 20 - MAL remixed)

I understand wanting to get certain things in stereo. But what value is there in something like the Goodbye demo? It's just Sir MACCA on guitar. Seriously. Some things make more sense in mono.

IDK about messy, it's no messier than how FAAB and RL were first presented alongside outtake, or how N&T was just tacked onto a comp titled 1967-70...and that track list fits snug on a single LP, completely plays into the theme of "Now and Then" covering all eras of the band, unites the three Lennon-demo songs along with the other latter day recorded orchestrated WMGGW, and giving hardcore fans a few long-desired things from the '60s. How many people complained about the poor quality of Goodbye? That can be improved now. How many complained we didn't get Take 20 in stereo and instead got Take 18 of Revolution, etc.. Imagine all those overdubs and vocals flying around in Atmos  It would make for a great closing track. And again, I said "if Apple was more adventurous." Of course it's not what they would do typically or what I'd expect from them, but I would have enjoyed such a release immensely

I think I'll go enjoy a release of my own.

Well, I enjoyed 67-70 but I’m officially done with these fuckers. Everything is overpriced and Now and Then was so shit it really set me off. Fuck the Beatles and fuck you.

Listening to the Rubber Soul mixes from the new Red album again and they are reminding me still of the Rock Band extractions. The bass just doesn't sound good.

There are many tonal issues and implausibilities in Argylle, but the fact that one of the characters, especially one under the age of 60, would have Now and Then as their favorite song for years is one of the most puzzling.

Lol, how much did you blow on N&T? I think it was $27. Other than buying a house with friends in the 80s it might be the biggest mistake of my life.
