Elon muskrat is a new member that is proving to be a real asshole to watch. Yet another one who refuses to accept that his beloved cee dees are irrelevant. forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/taylor-swift-sold-80-000-vinyl-records.1163606/page-3Based on this poat and his location being Los Angeles, I’m convinced Elon Muskrat is banned former user Rocky’s Owner, who used to poat over and over and over about how he doesn’t “rent air”. He had the “Compact Disc Digital Audio” logo for an avatar.

I remember when "silvers" was used by bootleg collectors to differentiate from CD-Rs. Or to say that it was a clean rip and not a re-up of mp3s.

He’s also really stanning for Damon Krukowski. Yeah, I like Damon and Naomi, but as Kramer stated, Dean W was their ‘bread and butter’. G500 bought back their masters from Rough Trade and have made a LOT of $ from Spotify from that catalog, as Strange is on so many playlists from people who mostly weren’t even alive when that album was made. Money they definitely would not have made without streaming. Yet Damon continuously whines about streaming.

Robcar: “ The only people screaming incessantly here are the handful of “streaming uber alles” types who seem to glean tremendous satisfaction from pulling the rug out from under the music fans who have a passion for curating their collections.
Why? Some type of mental illness most likely. Or just contrarianism.”
Reality: we just actually like music, and not an object that may be compensation for some other life defect.

I have seen it suggested that those who collect music may not enjoy music as much as those who don't collect it.

I have seen it suggested that those who collect music may not enjoy music as much as those who don't collect it. Even for me, collecting music and listening to music are two different hobbies that bring me pleasure in different ways. Long ago I made the decision to only collect music that I will also enjoy. And going on three years, I've been collecting almost exclusively digitally (unless getting the CEE DEE is the only option).

For me personally, once it became cheap to have the hard drive space to do it, ripping my entire cee dee collection to aiff and getting rid of the discs made me listen to the music more, as it was so easily accessible. Not to mention that it freed up a whole lot of space that was devoted to having a shitload of plastic on shelves. Now with apple being lossless, I’m looking at my vinyl and realizing that so many hundreds can easily go to a new home, and it actually feels good to shed it.
They aLso use this excuse of buying CDs benefits the artist, where it really doesn’t push the needle enough to make it worthwhile. They refuse to accept this reality, and can’t get their asses out of their own ego. If it was profitable, ever new release would come out on cee dee. News flash! It isn’t, and it adds a whole bunch of other costs into the equation. Plenty of people I know (myself included) make more money now vs the CD era thru bandcamp, old titles that people keep streaming, etc. There are so many examples of bands on major labels that made $0 because from CD sales due to label debt. Zero need for that now, and with many artists getting the rights to their back catalogs they are making a decent chunk of money for the first time. Buying t shirts and other merch is far more beneficial to touring bands than buying a CD.

I'd say that works for me too. I like browsing in secondhand shops as I can find something that I wouldn't even think to look for or know it existed. Most of my music listening is in the car these days so and I've lost the discipline (?) of sitting down and listening to something for the most part. Music is normally on at home while I do something else, which is fine but it's nice to sit down and get off the 'phone or whatever and actually chill a bit.

I use a bootleg copy of Roon and it couldn’t be easier to browse by artist, album or whatever. These dumbfucks complain about literally everything.

I don't look at album covers anymore. I was a young teen when Prince's Lovesexy came out, and that cover gave me confused feelings that I decided to bury deep within. These days I only browse music the way it should be browsed - searching for files with the grep utility on the Linux command line. Only way to be safe from Prince being too damn sexy and naked.
