The Beatles: How a schoolboy made the band's earliest known UK concert recordingThe original taper (who I assume is still the owner) would be wise to sell for the best price possible but only under the conditions that the tape gets cleaned up and released in full and that his name is credited as the original recording engineer (to use the term loosely...!!!). If he hasn't already got himself a good lawyer with persuasive negotiation skills who can also write up a watertight contract, well...he needs to find one...!!! Why do we think that the original taper intends to sell the tape? Did he say this? He could have sold it years ago if that was his intention, but obviously chose not to. Indeed he preferred to keep its existence a secret. I do, however, wonder about the timing of his decision to reveal its existence now. Why did he choose the 60th anniversary, almost to the day? One wonders what behind the scene discussions have been going on. If it were me I would announce to the media and the world that I would simply like to hand deliver to Paul McCartney at Cavendish in London- go inside cavendish and visit with Paul, listen to it together, shake his hand goodbye, and be on my way! He should keep ownership of the tape and just license the recording to Apple/The Beatles. Of course, if Paul's people ring him up with a $$$ offer, then perhaps I too would sell it for a good price and to meet Paul (my strict conditions) This "find" is the kind of stuff that could be included in a revised Anthology with additional material.

What if STeVE purchased the tape (he's one of them there millionares, bucko) and restored it with his patented Breath of Life technique? Oh, that only works on recordings that were already audiophile grade to begin with.

Somebody would have to fly in some Decca Audition vocals.

He can't comment on it. NDA, y'all.
Sending in a gort now to clean this thread up. Don't discuss sound quality unless your equipment profile is filled. Them's the rules, bucko! Heh.

Yes, for Peter Jackson and Disney to be involved, it's got to be something more exciting and "sexy" than a re-release of the old Anthology documentary. There isn't big, mainstream nostalgia for that TV series. It's probably something more cutting-edge. It would be cool if there's a live-action remake of Magical Mystery Tour, using an actual script, and directed by Peter Jackson. Perhaps new tech can be used to integrate some of the original, real Beatles footage from MMT into a sequence and new setting of the new movie, so the real Beatles themselves make an extended cameo in the new movie that otherwise has actors as the band and wild cast of characters on the adventure. I'd love it if old Ringo and Paul and the Yellow Submarine version of all four make cameos, too. It could be like "multi-verse" of The Beatles ha. That's the real trip.

Apple or Peter Jackson (or Giles ) would just screw it up and miss the opportunity to give us the U.S. cartoon Beatles too

Remake Peter Jackson's King Kong but starring AI generated Beatles. Only if they're King Kong sized!

I think Take 20, with all of its layers of backing vocals and more guitars and sounds, is so good that they decided to save it as a carrot for a future release, and reverted to Take 18 for the box, only because Take 20 had already leaked in low-quality mono and a lot of fans already knew that a long version existed because of the leak. I do believe we get a stereo and Atmos mix of Take 20 one day—or perhaps a mix that melds the completed Revolution 1 (horns and harmonies and all) with the long Take 20 fade blended in....as it's the culmination of John's original vision for the song and one The Beatles obviously put a ton of effort into (the first song tackled during the White Album sessions) before J&Y put sound effects and audio verite all across it.

Is that the Beatard that has the Breakfast with the Beatles or something. The definition of insanity. Doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result.
