Jailbait vampire movies aside, it's sad to think that so many Chinese restaurants across the country have closed because of idiots like SandinAss and Dudley Morris. I'm sure many of of them have been threatened both verbally and physically. I would be terrified to be a Chinese person living in the US now. I'm sure some of those businesses are likely gone for good. But hey, we got God, guns and Trump.

I’m in the UK and about 4 weeks ago my wife was walking towards two young asian men wearing face masks on the stairs next to a department store (Primark). Walking in front of her was an older guy who as he passed the two young guys, turned and spat in one of their faces! My wife was absolutely shocked and the poor guy just looked at my wife, shook his head and carried on walking like it was an inconvenient but regular occurrence.
There are simply too many fuckwits who feel emboldened by Trump and Brexit to let their true colours shine. (The same people bycotting Corona beer.) The sooner this wave turns and goes the other way the better.

Regarding masks, I work in a supermarket. In Brooklyn. 6 nights a week. I have not worn a mask or gloves, wash my hands only slightly more than usual and touch my face as I always have. I still go out every other morning on a 5 mile walk and chat with any number of usual folks I encounter. I've never felt better. Make of this what you will.Grant said: Let's see if you are still feeling fine in two weeks. That's the incubation period. You also happen to work and live in the nation's epicenter. I believe it was ol' Ben Franklin that said that it's better to live one day on your feet than a lifetime on your knees. I offer this not as bravado or judgement but only as a testimony from real life that might be useful to someone. Fear will do you in faster than any virus.

If I responded to this post the way I'd like, I'd be suspended for a good month! :sigh:Gaslight said: Well I have no issues responding. My local supermarket, which I still frequent once a week, has moved to another level of social distancing, reducing the ability to move back/forth in the aisles to reduce cross-traffic. And tomorrow they'll start restricting the number of people that enter the store at one time. I'm not particularly thrilled at these changes, but I completely understand the reasoning. And their employees have gone from wearing no masks / gloves to most of them wearing both now. @wally Swift , keep in mind that given where you live, and similarly where I live, we could easily be positive right now and show no symptoms at all. And never will. Lucky for us then, but not so lucky for those of us we interface with every day. I wear a mask at the supermarket (and have been for a few weeks now) and I wear it when I drop off groceries for my elderly mother not because I'm concerned she may infect me....but actually the reverse. The mask I wear protects her much more than it protects me. Where we agree is the fear comment - it can be as destructive as any virus and in some respects even more so. But I wear a seatbelt, for example, as a precaution. I stop at red lights as it is reckless not to do otherwise. There are things we do not because we are cowering in fear, unsure of what to do, but because it makes logical sense to do so given the circumstances we are in. And right now I consider it of upmost importance to help protect others from this virus, that is unlike anything I've seen in my lifetime. Wallford Swift continues on being a douche:

Make of this what you will? Yours is an anecdotal story, one person in a nation of 300 million. Pandemics aren't about anecdotal testimony, they are about viewing aggregate trends. It's not about fear, it's about prevention. I believe it was ol' Ben Franklin that said "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure"
Wally Swift said: I disagree with the use of the term pandemic. Plandemic is what we have here. Ben Franklin would have known the difference. He would have seen it coming and laughed at the messengers.

Hey Wally, why don't you take your almanac and shove it up your ass. What the fuck does Ben Franklin have to do with any of this?

Gaslight needs an invite here.
The whole "Ben Franklin" thing is a similar problem I'm having with my "muh rights" crowd on Facebook. One asshole posted a photo of the constitution and said "this is my note that says I can go outside". It's always some document from the 1700s with these idiots. The Franklin comment shows he's a real man, from when men were men and rugged individualists. Hey, you greasy fat fuck, you're not starting the next American Revolution, you're a dickbag in a grocery store that has trouble spelling his own name. Put the flag away and sit the fuck down, "Wally".

No, see, that's where you're wrong. See, the deal is, they think because JEWS aren't the "enemy" now, they can't possibly be Nazis. I have a relative that is a dyed-in-the-wool trump supporter. Watches fox news relgiously all day, pushes the non-pc crap...so, basically a hoffmanite. Problems with "the blacks", "the Mexicans" "the A-rabs", etc. But he "likes" the Jews. So that's the little escape they have. Can't call us Nazis, we like Jews!
Unfortunately, my Jewish girlfriend, who obviously has family dating back to the Holocaust, sees right through it and doesn't buy it for a second. We all know exactly what they are.

They tolerate Jews because of Israel being a stronghold in the Middle East against Muslims and because of figures such as Jared Kushner, Stephen Miller or Sheldon Adelson. But they’ll still scapegoat the evil liberal Jew who spreads progressive propaganda like George Soros or Steven Spielberg.
