Most of my 500 CD collection sound flat and lifeless....need new music!

“After some time listening to music,mainly CD's,I have come to the conclusion that most of my collection sounds lifeless and flat.
Looking for some new,good sounding CD's in the 'rock" genre.
I already have the usual picks,(Supertramp-"COTC",Fleetwood Mac-"Rumours",Steely Dan-"Aja",Pink Floyd='DSOTM",some done my Mo-Fi,AF,etc...all sound non-moving,hardly any cymbals,etc.
I listened to Roxy Music -'Avalon" last night and that is the quality of sound I am looking for.
Any recommendations,as all (most) of my music now is getting to be very boring to listen to!
I am stuck with an all CD rig,turntables long gone.

Maybe some punk CDs is the answer or if he wants something more aggressive get a copy of Works or Love Beach.

Based on Huck's taste in music and presumed age, I'm suggesting he move from CDs to reel-to-reel tape. At least with reel-to-reel you don't have to deal with all the youngsters blathering about colored and splattered VINYLS.
