Not a big REM fan but I am a fan of George Michael Dolenz Jr. and I am a big fan of C Nez' work as a musician, engineer and producer. Christian's work on DSN and his wife Circe Link's albums are very aurally pleasing, the man knows how to mix a song which gives me hope that him and Micky can change my mind about 2 of the songs on the EP.

And yet, on and off since 1986 up to 2021, The Monkees spent more years as a touring act than the two seasons of the television show. And each member were involved in music as performers and songwriters since BEFORE the television project began in 1965, recording and releasing nine studio albums between 1966 to 1970, with many more albums afterwards as a group and as solo artists, including the highly acclaimed 2016 ‘Good Times’ album, produced by Adam Schlesinger with contributions by Paul Weller, Noel Gallagher, Andy Partridge, Rivers Cuomo, Ben Gibbard, Neil Diamond, Carole King, Harry Nilsson, Michael Nesmith, Peter Tork and Micky Dolenz. The album officially became The Monkees fifth number one vinyl album since 1967. And Micky Dolenz is about to release an EP of R.E.M. covers, which the members of the group are thrilled about being major fans of the Monkees.
And Michael Nesmith initially had the most successful solo career with several highly regarded albums, as well as a pioneer in the field of Music Video, becoming the very first major music artist to win a Grammy Award in the field, all very well documented if you bother to do the serious research.
Having written two books on The Monkees, their history is one of the most fascinating in Rock & Roll.

Curiosity got the better of me and I read the free preview excerpt of one of his books. It started with a tale of seeing them in New York and going backstage to hang with Peter Tork and Davy Jones, who welcomed him warmly. Just as I thought that I was mistaken and that he actually had a personal relationship with some of them, he reveals that it was a dream!

Aren’t there pics of him with the Monkees where they look like they’d rather get circumcised with a spoon?

Someone needs to contact R.E.M. scholar John Hunter to find out if this release is really happening.

Q: Were the Dave Clark Five any good?
A: Actually, all four have valid cred. Peter Tork came out of the same Greenwich Village scene as Bob Dylan, Steve Stills, Pete Seeger, John Sebastian, Mama Cass and more, plus he was a multi instrumentalist and considered the best musician in the group. Micky Dolenz was in a few bands playing guitar before the Monkees and used his acting skills to quickly learn the drums. He traveled in the same circles with the likes of Harry Nilsson, John Lennon, Ringo Starr, Keith Moon, Alice Cooper, etc, has gone on as a director and writer, performed on Broadway and is still a drawing concert performer. Davy Jones had an impressive theater career and was the original Artful Dodger in the Broadway production of Oliver, earning a Tony nomination for the role, which is a pretty big deal. He was still performing up to his untimely death.
The TV show only lasted two years, but the four continued performing and recording, both group and solo, since 1966 up to the deaths of three of the members, leaving Dolenz as the sole surviving member of the group, of which he continues to carry the torch.
Having written two books on The Monkees, I think I have a fairly good grasp of their history.

Used his acting skills to quickly learn the drums?
Can I use my jacking skills to quickly learn rocket science? How are those related? Does he mean he was able to quickly learn how to fake drum?
