Sandandglass is the one who kept on going on about looking after a young girl. Really creepy.
This is really interesting. Even when he's discussing the child's mother, he describes her..

But we’re the ones with issues. Yeah, ok. But "we're" all one person, remember.

That's right, because nowadays no one ever does or says anything offensive and always falls in line with PC culture.
Not to mention that people were calling that shit out back then too. I believe even Jagger switched up the lyrics of Brown Sugar a bit when they started doing it live.
Nevertheless, I submit this.
The number one reason why it couldn't be made today? Ray Manzarek is dead.

Indian Lake, by those monsters The Cowsills Please Mr. Custer, by somebody. Everything, by Ray Stevens. Do you think STeVE's cha-cha project was deemed "too ethnic?" Hit songs that had a "Cha Cha" beat. Can you help me name some for a project I'm working on?Can you name me some hit songs that had a "cha cha" beat? I can only off the top of my brain think of two: David Seville "Alvin's Harmonica" and Dave 'Baby' Cortez "Rinky Dink." Are there more? Why, sure, Steverino! Running Scared- Roy Orbison And of course The Fabs' "Good Day Sunshine".... Just realized that "Oh, Pretty Woman" by Roy Orbison is a cha-cha! "The Cha Cha Cha" by Bobby Rydell The Purina cat chow commercial Beatles : And I love Her, Don't Bother Me (that may be a Bosa Nova can't remember right now) Beatles No Reply, Mr Moonlight,

I had to look up the lyrics to the Ten Years After song to see what was so bad about it. Then I saw the offending lyrics.
"Tax the rich, feed the poor"
No, no, no, no. We can't have that kind of virtue signalling, left wing, SJW crap in our music! Those rich guys worked very hard for their money! TURMP 2042!!!

That's pretty sad, considering all the garbage called "rap" that's out there. It’s not anything that’s intrinsically wrong with the “younger” generation , just the time they happen to have been born. Those of us who grew up with Mad Magazine, National Lampoon and Richard Pryor and George Carlin just seem to take things more in stride Rightly or wrongly, I don’t know I find it incredibly sad ( of where we are at..yes for some and no for others) with all the filthy disgusting horrible disrespectful lyrics presently they pick on BICO...how many years old is this song? I can't even post any of those song lyrics on our forum... The greeter in the front of Costco was singing 'Young Girl' earlier today when I was buying tires. That song instantly reminded me of the questionable lyrics in Gary's hits. My god, how woke are some the people here! I don't know the forum rules here about language so I'll censor it, but has anyone mentioned "Pregnant P***y" by UGK? You’re being naive if you don’t think that political correctness is not a real thing or that having an unpopular opinion — or any opinion that goes against what powerful people are holding at any given moment — can’t be costly. Also , I believe that what appears to you to be people griping about not being able to “ engage in consequences- free selfishness-“ can better be described as people tired of hypocrisy and selectively applied outrage. There’s a lot of both out there. “ We no longer live in those times.” It’s not the fault of the past that people of the present lack the ability understand things like irony, and art that works on more than one level. Political correctness is a disease. People are being conditioned to find something offensive in these songs. I love most of the songs mentioned in this thread. If it personally makes someone feel better to find fault in these songs…fine, but, in most cases, you’re completely wrong. I don’t usually feel strong enough about a topic to want to post, but I really dislike political correctness of any kind. You know, I was in my teens when Illegal Alien came out and no one had a problem with it. Great song and a fun video. Baby, It’s Cold Outside? Fantastic, classic song. I really believe that people are over-thinking things these days because they believe it’s their duty to find something that might be offensive to someone. I can’t imagine living like that. I must admit that I was flabbergasted at the decision (which IIRC was taken by the Trump administration) to boycott/ban etc this song. The reasoning was that it was about ‘date rape’. :sigh: Yes, that strikes me as odd as well. Regarding The Trump administration’s so-called boycott of Baby It’s Cold Outside, I saw it as nothing more than posturing. They should’ve just not commented on it. But then again, by remaining mum on the subject, they would’ve been accused of endorsing date rape. The irony is that the song is not endorsing date rape in any way shape or form. The woman was given a beverage in which it was immediately obvious to her that something had been added. I’ve always assumed it was booze, and it’s those who think otherwise that truly scare me! I think it was gentlemanly of him to offer her a hot toddy on a bitterly cold evening. He had no intent of deceiving her. Just guessing, but I’ll wager she happily drank it down! In my view, the controversy over the song actually did a disservice to the very serious issue of date rape. There are those despicable sorts who do slip odorless and tasteless chemicals into others’ drinks for nefarious intents. I think that nowadays any song is offensive to someone...even "I want to hold your hand" could be accused of sexism or harassment...even the name "The Beatles" could be accused of cultural appropriation of insects,,,, It funny isn't it.... rock music used to be testing to the establishment, and now apparently is just another brick in the wall Political correctness used to be reasonably rational, then it jumped the shark. Two Little Boys - Rolf Harris I Am the Walrus - The Beatles A Day in the Life - The Beatles I Am the Walrus has the lyric "You’ve been a naughty girl, you’ve let your knickers down". It was banned from the BBC at the time, and probably wouldn't be acceptable today. A Day in the Life has the lyric "I love to turn you on". Most songs by NWA or 2 Live Crew. Oh wait... When they would play Paul Simon’s “Kodachrome”, our local AM radio station would bleep the word “crap”. I find none of the songs mentioned here offensive. So you’re down with White Nationalist/White Power bands and ideals? Signs - The Five Man Electrical Band “and the said long haired freaky people need not apply.” How about "White Christmas"? I'm surprised that doesn't get banned today, even though it can be interpreted several ways If you check out the Top 25 of various US cities in Apple Music, most of the songs posted here are tame in comparison.
