A smattering of stupidity - I couldn't face wading through so much idiot.
Some prick called Eddie Mann can't let it go:
Arnold Grove simply cannot help himself in his quest for approval from the bigger boys
And...yup, OobuJoobu (whose frankly baffling avatar I will never understand) has posted a gif of WHoPPIEEE.
Which led to this from moral arbiter Phil D (who? I can tell I've been away too long that I don't recognise most of this parade of dumb
But leave it to rfreeman to be the biggest prick in the thread.

There should be a 50 year moratorium on Beatles releases. The world needs a break from the fans.

The only celebrities which need appear anywhere in this project are the actual Beatles and Billy Preston. Those interviews with "celebrities" who never had a fekkin thing to do with a given subject but want to glom on in some cheesy way make me want to heave. Every time. I don't give half a crap what the Beatles meant to anyone who wasn't either in the group or married to one of them. And keep it a virtue-signaling-free zone. Apparently Andy Serkis will play both John and George during the new interview segments. :tiphat: Since this is going to be a Peter Jackson film and they have 55 hours of material to work with I predict the film run time will be 55 hours. Well it was claimed that The Beatles wanted to star in a Stanley Kubrick version of Lord of the Rings in the '60s with original songs. So the guy who did the Lord of the Rings movies is doing a film about the guys who wanted to do a Lord of the Rings film...circle is complete. According to Schaffner in Beatles Forever, 'The Beatles evidently were so taken with Lord Of The Rings that they gave serious consideration to tackling the near impossible task of adapting it into a movie' Peter Jackson is directing? That's funny because the Beatles were going to do a film version of Lord of the Rings. Too much info to process, the 'news' from today is actually OLD news, even Paul himself told everyone about it September 2018 during a radio interview in Quebec City, a new edit of the footage and to be released "in one or two years". Peter Jackson directing it it's the only new info revealed today, Abbey Road 50th for 2019 and Let it Be 50th for 2020 that's the plan (or was) and we've said that since Pepper 50th I think, now let's see if they switch places but with the upcoming Egypt Station Super Deluxe (announcement and pre-sale also delayed since December 9, 2018 and we don't have any new info about that yet except "soon") , the rumored Macca catalogue reissues and the Archives for the end of the year and rumored another Lennon or Harrison project, I doubt two Beatle box sets could be released this 2019. The news about Let it Be due in 2020 came actually since 2011 when a list of forthcoming projects was revealed which included: MMT box set, Hollywood Bowl and a new volume type of Anthology 4 that never happened but transformed into the '50th anniversary' box sets. She Stadium was also included as a Beatle product and not just on the big screen but that delay became due to some copyright issues. Sadly in 2011 I didn't do comments on social media and I don't have a recording of my meetings with other Beatle people telling them every time they've asked me about 'when Let it Be?, my answer was: in 2020!. Now let's wait. Do you know there was also going to be a Sgt Pepper 30th Anniversary release that was cancelled even when artworks and advance tapes (digital cassette) were made?:righton: Regards to all. It's not a question of whether the original film was any good or if it accurately captured the band. It is what the band produced (indirectly or not) and put out at the time; a historical document and a part of their legacy. To call "do-over" now is dishonest.

Question: Peter Jackson involved. What can we expect? Answer: A green hue added to each scene in the BluRay release! it may be tinted green... Will Jackson add a sickly green tint to all of the footage? Actually, for every tense scene (incl. the famous argument with Paul and George) the picture should be red tinted.^^ Just hope Whoopy Goldberg will not be the narrator off-screen. I guess this is as close as we get to The Beatles starring in "Lord of the Rings". I hope Jackson makes this a trilogy And then go onto to another trilogy of the prequel. The 50th anniversary Let It Be products will be released Friday May 8th, 2020, I predict. The new Peter Jackson movie will premiere before that date but not before January 30th, 2020, I predict, and will be included in the Let It Be “super deluxe” set. And although I don’t particularly care for these hypothetical content posts, I thought it would be nice to state/request what I (and possibly other Beatles fans) would like to see from a potential Let It Be anniversary package. LET IT BE – 50th ANNIVERSARY SUPER DELUXE BOX SET Blu-ray & DVD discs - New Peter Jackson directed Let It Be era film - Let It Be original film restored and remastered - Let It Be new 5.1 album audio mix - The complete Apple Corps rooftop concert restored and remastered - Bonus footage from the sessions, extra studio performances, etc. - Interviews, additional ‘making of’ documentaries, retrospectives, etc. Audio CDs CD1 - Let It Be new stereo mix CD2 - Let It Be sessions B-sides, outtakes & demos CD3 - Let It Be sessions B-sides, outtakes & demos CD4 - Let It Be original stereo mix CD5 - Alternate mixes from 1969’s Get Back and/or 2003’s Let It Be… Naked projects Book A lavish hardcover book including the album’s original liner notes and photos along with information on the album’s creation and history, new essays and photos from the entire recording process What's the likelihood we'll get a Spielberg version of "Magical Mystery Tour" (if he's not available then a version by someone else of his calibre)? I am looking forward to the M Night Shyamalan version of the making of Revolver. I see "I know what it's like to be dead" people.... Besides, now that Scorsese is out and Jackson in, will Kong make an appearance? I think this whole thing is a Paul whitewash, the only way the film will ever get released. And it will be filled with Yoko whitewash as well. To me it's obvious. Mark finally figured out the exact day and hour that Yoko ate the digestive biscuit. Every "new" Beatles thing is a matter of money. How much $ is enough ? I'd really like to have the original film, that's all, not another "Hollywood Concert" plus a new cover. I'm getting tired of all this things and new issues, just an opinion. If I remember well John said "Imagine no possessions, I wonder if you can", well, looks like THEY can't. Save up $5 per month till this set comes out and viola , you can buy a player. It is dishonest in that it is a re-doing of the original that they approved and put out. That would be like an artist from the 60s going back and auto-tuning a horribly unsuccessful album from the period and pawning it off as the actual performance/recording. The original must stand as a historical document. Anything newly assembled from the existing footage is fine as a new product. But the original should not be swept under the rug in order to paint a "happier" portrait of the band, regardless of whether or not those sessions were accurately reflected in the film or not. Personally, I don't buy this new spin that they also put on the White Album anniversary release, with George Martin Jr. talking about "his surprise" at hearing all the joy in those session tapes. Pure PR BS.

This is Peter Jackson we're talking about. It may somehow end up 56 hours long. The scuttlebutt is, it will be a trilogy: The Fellowship of the Ringo The Two Twickenhams Return of the Sun King Then followed by a prequel: The Holly More like The Unexpected Album The Desolation of Apple The Battle of 4 Beatles

Given that they have Jackson on board maybe they can go half way back to the earlier idea for the Beatles last UA film and have the Beatles spoken and sung lines from the film come out of the mouths of CGI hobbits and wizards. Maybe an image of Shelob for Yoko. It could brighten the mood considerably. Imagine Frodo telling Sauron to Get Back to Mordor before traveling the Long And Winding Road home to the Shire.
