The one on the right looks like the love child of Scoot and Edgar Winter.

Not related to anything in particular but I just came across this record on Amazon and it made me laugh and think of those SHite bands like The Beagles and what their best attempt at cover art would come out looking like, even the title is prime Shite cool. The 3 on the right look like they were leaving a movie theatre when someone approached them from behind and said “excuse me madam” and these are the reaction shots as they turned around. Glad to see the dude on the right scored a cool bit of memorabilia at Michael McKean’s charity auction…

So glad to see that my generation is becoming as insufferable as the boomers.

1000 records is surprisingly less than you’d think. Turning my head I can see an IKEA shelf holding ~250 records, and that’s just the A’s through James Brown of my collection. Even a shitty Sunrise in a half assed mall probably has around 1000 records.

There's no way they threw away Elvis records, but I could see crap like the Ventures and Paul Anka being tossed. You probably can't even give that junk away.

I was in a record store in Montréal a couple of years ago and a university aged girl asked if they had any Zamfir records and the guy behind the counter took her to where they’d be kept. I stopped guessing at what would sell and what wouldn’t these days.

My experience is that every antique mall and flea market in the southern U.S. with a hopeful vendor selling records in their booth has Elvis records with ridicously over-inflated prices. Also, all of these places have just masses of terrible big band, country, easy-listening and white gospel records that no one still alive wants, even if they were being given away.

the local record guy here has a bin at the register: buy something and take a record. he also usually has a bin of just totally free stuff outside
